A job I wouldn’t want…
One job I wouldn’t want would be…
being Britney Spears PR person.
Seriously… Britney Spears is losing it.
Even my seven year old son said… “She is insane!”
My 13 year old daughter said… “She has been drinking way too much.”
It is so sad when a seven year old and a thirteen year old can see how nutso she is.
Seriously… how can someone with so much money and success be so… trashy??
Trashy and now shaved bald… her poor kids. Not enough therapy in the world for them.
My Grandfather…
My Grandfather passed away on February 7th.
I just returned from attending his funeral in Salt Lake City.
He was a good man.
I wish I had known him better. My gypsy life comes with a high price and that is getting to spend time with family.
Being home with my family really made me realize how much I wish I lived near them. It also made my home here in KS feel so supremely temporary. Like a “holding pattern” more than a home. I am sure it isn’t that way for my husband since we live near his family… but for me… it is just limbo until one day I can live in UT.
It also made me realize how much better I need to be with my other Grandma and Grandpa. I need to treasure them while I still have them.
Funerals sure put life in perspective.
Super Bowl…
First off… I loved watching the Super Bowl. ^^^^ and I were rooting for the Colts and ^^^^ and ^^^^ were rooting for the Bears. I had SO much fun watching the game and explaining the game to VVVV and VVVV. We need to watch more football together. It was a LOT of fun.
Secondly… I am so impressed by Tony Dungy. I really would love to know more about him. He seems to be a very inspirational man and I would gladly attend any leadership seminar he ever gave. I applaud Tony Dungy wholeheartedly. I hope he continues to succeed in all he does.
Thirdly… the BEAUTIFUL interception and touchdown by Kelvin Hayden was AWESOME!! AAWWEESSOOMMEE!! I was off the couch and jumping up and down like a crazy person. Now THAT is football worth watching!
Fourth… Prince. I loved watching Prince perform. When he ended up his performance with Purple Rain, I felt such an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia. I remember buying Purple Rain, the album. It was one of the first albums I ever bought. So many memories flooded back to me of that time in my life. It is amazing the memories that music can evoke.
And fifth… if you happened to catch any of Animal Planet’s “Puppy Bowl”… it was hilarious. Mostly hilariously lame… but hilarious nonetheless. The puppies wore out pretty quickly and mostly it was non-eventful. But still cute. I mean, c’mon… they are puppies. Puppies are cute no matter what.
So there you have it… a few of my Super Bowl thoughts.
Went to the library…
We went to the library and I got a stack of 9 books to read over the next few days. Looking forward to that.
Got a Margaret Weis “Dragonvard” trilogy and am starting with that. Read the first book today. It was “Eh.”
Oh… just a sidenote…
the more I think about it… the more I realize how much I truly hated “Epic Movie”.
Sigh… I need a new book to read…
I really need a new book to read!!
I finished “New Moon” by Stephanie Meyer the other day. VERY GOOD. I am really digging her writing.
I also reread the original Dragonlance series with author’s comments (Weis and Hickman). That was a great reread.
My husband is reading some Clive Cussler books. The series with “The Golden Buddha” that I got him for Christmas.
My daughter is rereading her Warriors series for the umpteenth time.
My son is reading (ugh!) Captain Underpants books.
Sigh… I need a new book to read.
Top Chef Finale 1…
Well, I didn’t think I could like Elia less… it is amazing how in two episodes she has TOTALLY plummeted in my opinion of her. Marcel has “cheated”??? Cheated??? Seriously, that was so lame.
I am surprised that Sam got kicked off the show.
I think Marcel totally “brought it” at the Hawaiian competition and am glad to see he made it. I never really was pushing for him to win or anything… I thought that Sam and Cliff were both better cooks… but I am glad to see him being major competition.
Frankly, I hope he beats Ilan.
I think Top Chef Bravo is going to have a tough sell with either one of them. For some reason, a lot of people hate Marcel… but I think it is because they are convinced that if everyone hates him on the show then he must really deserve it. So Marcel would be a hard sell as a winner.
But I think a lot of people hate Ilan for his participation in the attack on Marcel by Cliff… he really egged on the activity.
Good luck Bravo… what a fascinating show you have given us this season!
More Top Chef storyline manipulation…
Apparently… the rumor is that in this week’s rebroadcast of the episode, “Elia with her hair while Marcel storms out” has been edited out. I am curious to see for myself if that is true!
