Missing summer break!
The kids are getting out of school soon and I am wishing I could join them. I want summer break.
I think grown-ups should get summer break too.

that I hadn’t posted for a while.
I had no idea it had been THAT LONG ago that I posted. CRAZY.
Okay… a few “catch up” thoughts…
American Idol… Frankly, everyone knows that Melinda Dolittle was the best singer by far. I wasn’t sad she was gone though… she is going to get a recording contract for SURE… and probably a better one by far than the one Simon Fuller would have given her. Although… I do have to wonder… what kind of album would she put out??
That is why I voted for Blake and Chris throughout the show… I KNOW they both would put out music I would listen to on the radio. I like Adult Alternative/Pop 40. Blake’s Maroon Five last week was dead on buyable!!
I hope Blake wins… and I hope he loses. I hope he loses because I would like for him to be able to get a better record deal as well than the Simon Fuller one. I hope he wins because I think he was the most “true to himself” and “risk-taking” idol on the show this year.
Grey’s Anatomy… I hate that Addison is leaving. I am looking forward to enjoying her new show though. I love the other actors on that show, so it should be good. George needs to stay with Callie and find his way now that he failed his intern exam. Izzie… leave him alone already!! Dereck and Meredith have lost their magic. Too bad. I hope the chief stays and gets back with Adele.
Jericho… I can’t believe Jericho is cancelled. WHAT A JOKE. My husband and I LOVE that show. There are only three shows we watch together… Jericho, Scrubs, and My Name is Earl. Jericho is one of the best dramas on TV. Period. I can’t believe they are cancelling it. What a bunch of bozo’s.
Quick Movie thoughts…
Hot Fuzz was hilarious. I loved it and will see it again for sure.
Loved Spiderman 3. Very good!
Enjoyed Shrek the Third as well. Nice wrap up to the story.
AND CAN’T WAIT… CAN’T WAIT… CAN’T WAIT… for Pirates 3!!! AGH!! I am SOOOOOOOOOO excited. I love, love, love Pirates of the Caribbean. May has been an awesome movie month! And the best part is I still have Harry Potter to look forward to this summer! Sigh… bring on the popcorn!

I haven’t posted for a while… and I have certainly be remiss in sharing my American Idol thoughts…
I think Melinda and Lakisha are amazing singers.
Having said that… my favorite is Chris Richardson. Hands down.
He is the one I would buy an album from.
So, even though I don’t think he will win, I hope he goes far enough in the competition to get noticed by the record companies so he can put out some albums.
GO CHRIS!

I just watched my DVR version of Greys from this week.
It was heart-wrenching and I was mesmorized the whole show!
Touching Moments:
Addison trying to help save Meredith
Mark trying to “be there” for Derek.
Dereks passion for saving Meredith
Cristina calling Meredith “Her Person”
George finding the little boy on Kali’s table.
So many truly good moments. I had tears through the last half of the show. It was an amazing episode.

Britney should have stayed in rehab.
Now she is a joke with no hair, no dignity, and no career.
I really hope she can recover from all of this.

One job I wouldn’t want would be…
being Britney Spears PR person.
Seriously… Britney Spears is losing it.
Even my seven year old son said… “She is insane!”
My 13 year old daughter said… “She has been drinking way too much.”
It is so sad when a seven year old and a thirteen year old can see how nutso she is.
Seriously… how can someone with so much money and success be so… trashy??
Trashy and now shaved bald… her poor kids. Not enough therapy in the world for them.

My Grandfather passed away on February 7th.
I just returned from attending his funeral in Salt Lake City.
He was a good man.
I wish I had known him better. My gypsy life comes with a high price and that is getting to spend time with family.
Being home with my family really made me realize how much I wish I lived near them. It also made my home here in KS feel so supremely temporary. Like a “holding pattern” more than a home. I am sure it isn’t that way for my husband since we live near his family… but for me… it is just limbo until one day I can live in UT.
It also made me realize how much better I need to be with my other Grandma and Grandpa. I need to treasure them while I still have them.
Funerals sure put life in perspective.

First off… I loved watching the Super Bowl. ^^^^ and I were rooting for the Colts and ^^^^ and ^^^^ were rooting for the Bears. I had SO much fun watching the game and explaining the game to VVVV and VVVV. We need to watch more football together. It was a LOT of fun.
Secondly… I am so impressed by Tony Dungy. I really would love to know more about him. He seems to be a very inspirational man and I would gladly attend any leadership seminar he ever gave. I applaud Tony Dungy wholeheartedly. I hope he continues to succeed in all he does.
Thirdly… the BEAUTIFUL interception and touchdown by Kelvin Hayden was AWESOME!! AAWWEESSOOMMEE!! I was off the couch and jumping up and down like a crazy person. Now THAT is football worth watching!
Fourth… Prince. I loved watching Prince perform. When he ended up his performance with Purple Rain, I felt such an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia. I remember buying Purple Rain, the album. It was one of the first albums I ever bought. So many memories flooded back to me of that time in my life. It is amazing the memories that music can evoke.
And fifth… if you happened to catch any of Animal Planet’s “Puppy Bowl”… it was hilarious. Mostly hilariously lame… but hilarious nonetheless. The puppies wore out pretty quickly and mostly it was non-eventful. But still cute. I mean, c’mon… they are puppies. Puppies are cute no matter what.
So there you have it… a few of my Super Bowl thoughts.
