Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree…
How lovely are your artificial, already-lit, fluffed out and plugged in branches!
Yes, we did it… we got the Christmas tree up tonight!!
We didn’t decorate it yet, that is for tomorrow, we just set it up and fluffed it and plugged it in as we listened to Mannheim Steamroller. The one that starts with “Deck the Halls”… it is my FAVORITE Christmas music.
Although, I am really digging Eclipse’s “Three Kings”… Nice!!
But I digress…
So, we got the Christmas tree up, turned it on, turned out all the lights in the home, and sipped hot cocoa as we discussed our thoughts on our Christmas plans.
Hopefully we will do at least two service projects of some sort, a Christmas cookie baking night, a graham-cracker gingerbread homes night, and some caroling. Need to get it all mapped out on a calendar.
We really took advantage of “Black Friday” and got a large percentage of our Christmas shopping for the kids done, so we are ahead of the game for now.
I love Christmas!!
TWO KIDS MOVIES…
Okay, I just recently saw two kids movies… Flushed Away and Happy Feet.
LOVED Flushed Away. So fun!
LOATHED Happy Feet. So… ugh… overly preachy, too crazy plot twists, and just couldn’t wait for it to be over. I LOVED the singing and dancing… HATED everything else.
And this is from someone who hates VERY FEW movies.
So, you can keep Mumble HappyFeet… and send in “Milificent Bystander and the Slugs”! (WBAGNFARB!)
Emergency Room Visit…
My daughter had to go to the Emergency Room tonight. Poor thing REALLY smashed up her Big Toe!!
I am such a baby I couldn’t even stand to look at her poor toe! It isn’t the blood… it is the grossness of the damage to the toe! I am terrible about pain and grossness!! It is a good thing I didn’t become a doctor, I would NEVER make it!
She was so brave though as the doctors did their stuff. If you knew her and how brave she was, you would be SO proud of her!
New Blog created…
I created a new blog today Internet Marketing Forum Talk. I was in the mood to build another blog and that was the concept that I decided on.
I can tell already that it is a time-intensive blog, but I think it will be fun. I think I may get some other folks to post on it as well.
OK Go on Treadmills…
For those of you who don’t know me well, you have no idea how much I love music. Well… I love it. Love it, love it, love it!
And truly, I think OK Go’s video for “Here it Goes Again” is just simply brill. BRILL!! So cheap, so clever, so very truly un-corporate. It makes me happy every time I watch it. If you haven’t seen it, you can see it at YouTube.
And this parody makes me laugh so hard… I love Mr. OK Go Head. HA HA!
I LOVE Weird Al!
Okay, can I tell you how much I love the White and Nerdy video? I mean seriously. I love it with a capital LOVE. If I could I would take it out to dinner and a movie and ask it for a second date. I LOVE THIS VIDEO.
I also love the cameos!! Especially Donny Osmond! His dancing is priceless. And the tribute to the Star Wars guy… so awesome I could cry.
I also love how he trashes the Wikipedia page for Atlantic Records. Serves them right for being so dorky about his parody of James Blunt’s song.
And lastly… I love it that Weird Al actually made a My Space page for the video and that he really does have his own My Space page.
I also think it rocks that Chamillionaire has it up on his My Space page. So much cooler than Coolio was with Amish Paradise. Kudos Chamillionaire.
Sigh… I love music.
Kanye West… big winner, bigger loser…
Kanye West. Wow… talk about a self-indulgent egomaniac!!
Seriously, Kanye, ever heard of humility? Graciousness? Being a “good sport”? Dignity? Self-Respect?
For those of you who don’t know what I am talking about… he won the award for best hip hop artist, lost the award for best video… and then jumped on the stage to make a huge fuss as the winners were receiving their award!!
Apparently, he said something to the affect of, “(Bleep) dis! Mine cost a million dollars, Pamela Anderson was in it, I was jumping across canyons and (bleep)! If I don’t win, the awards show loses credibility. Nothing against you (referring to Justice and Simian), but hell man.”
Then later when talking to the press, he said somethings to the effect of…
“I haven’t seen it (referring to the Justice and Simian video). Possibly it could have been quite good but no way better than ‘Touch The Sky.’
“That is complete (bleep), I paid a million. Obviously it’s not all about the money, but the response it got transcended everything, it really made great TV.
“It took a month to film; I stood on a mountain; I flew a heliocopter over Vegas. I did it to be the king of all videos and I wanted to walk home with that award.”
“That was some spread the love (bleep). ‘Oh everyone should have an award.’ Please press people, print ‘Kanye says (bleep) that!’”
So, Kanye, ask and you shall receive.
I think when he sees the Justice and Simian video he is going to be like… “WHAT?? That beat me??”
Of course, if I had been voting for best video… I would have picked “OK Go’s Here it Goes Again”. Without question.. best video… ever.
And it cost WAY less than a million dollars.
Halloween Milestone…
My oldest went out trick-or-treating with friends this year. I think at 13 it is okay and the friends were all kids I know pretty well. Still… it is hard to see the kids growing up so fast!
